Youth
Our youth group, led by Youth Pastors John Cox and Rebecca Fischer,
is a hardy band of teens in grades 7 through 12. They meet regularly on Wednesday
nights in the Youth Room from 6 to 8:30 PM. Youth events occur frequently,
and include overnight lock-ins, mission trips, movies, outings, and prayer
walks.
The focus of our youth ministry is on nurturing them as disciples of Jesus Christ and forming them in Christian virtues and character. We seek to introduce every young person to a personal relationship with Jesus Christ; to encourage spiritual growth; to foster caring, interpersonal relationships; and to provide opportunities for mission.
Our youth participate in the Rite-13 and Journey
to Adulthood program, which includes special liturgies during Sunday
worship to mark important life transitions, and a pilgrimage. The pilgrimage
in 2002 included historical Anglican places of worship in England and the
eastern United States. The 2005 pilgrimage took place in England and Ireland, with a goals of understanding our Anglican roots, and listening to reconcilers on both sides of the conflict in Ireland.
